Preparing for Parenthood:Preparing for the birth of your baby may seem overwhelming, but understanding what to expect can help you feel more confident, healthy and relaxed. Take advantage of one or all of the programs listed below to get the most out of your pregnancy:
1. Birth Planner:
Cameron's Birth Planner is here to help you through every step of your journey. The Special Touch Delivery Program is a specialized one-on-one program to help you during your pregnancy that will be completed with the Birth Planner. In addition, the Birth Planner will discuss the following topics with you:
Forming a personalized birth plan
Pain control options during labor
Follow-up visit after discharge
Take a tour of the unit and much more
2. Prenatal (Childbirth) Classes:
Cameron's childbirth classes are taught by our prenatal educator, and are aimed to educate soon-to-be parents on all aspects of labor, delivery and post-partum.
3. Breastfeeding Classes:
Cameron's breastfeeding classes are taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and help mothers gain confidence for her breastfeeding journey. Class topics are focused on successful breastfeeding, including skin-to-skin, rooming-in, latching on and positioning.
4. Aromatherapy and Hydrotherapy
Upon request, soon-to-be moms may have aromatherapy during labor, delivery and postpartum. The use of oils helps to reduce stress, promote relaxation, increase alertness and help manage pain, anxiety and nausea. This powerful, but very safe, option allows for comfort during labor for the mom and everyone with her.
Hydrotherapy utilizes the soothing properties of warm water immersion for 3 hours to help you relax and reduce your discomfort and anxiety in labor. The buoyancy from hydrotherapy helps you to easily change positions. Hydrotherapy also decreases the need for medications and interventions to speed labor, decreases the need for pain medications and anesthesia and increases the satisfaction with your birth experience.
After the baby:After your baby is born, the family post-partum rooms provide comfortable surroundings for you to get to know you new family member. Babies may "room in", or nursery care is also available 24 hours a day. To ensure your stay is a special time, we offer:
